Acer palmatum ‘Seiryu’ is a unique, upright laceleaf Japanese maple. ‘Seiryu’ is the only dissected cultivar with a strong vertical growth habit. Its finely cut, fern-like green foliage emerges fresh and vibrant in spring, deepens in summer and finished with a stunning display of red, gold and orange in autumn. As a mature tree, ‘Seiryu’ develops a graceful, layered structure reaching up to 4-6m tall, making it ideal as a specimen in larger gardens or structured landscapes. Best grown in partial shade with moist, well-drained soil and protection from harsh winds to preserve its delicate leaves.
