Description
Amelanchier lamarckii (Juneberry / Snowy Mespilus) is a graceful multi-seasonal small tree or large shrub with starry white flowers in early spring, often appearing before the bronze-tinged young leaves unfurl. These are followed by edible, dark purple berries in summer (loved by both birds and gardeners) and a vibrant display of orange, red and gold foliage in autumn. Naturally elegant with an open, airy habit, it thrives in a wide range of soils and works beautifully in borders, woodland edges or as a specimen tree.
Hardy, wildlife-friendly, and low-maintenance.
